Missoni Striped Scarf

Can you believe the price of this? Shouldn't be that hard to make!

What about the flaring ends? How can you do that?

http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/16101

I figure I can cast on the length of the scarf and knit a welt of 6

rows in reverse stockinette in a color, followed by 2 rows of

stockinette with short rows at the ends to flare them. Repeating the

welts across in fashion color (reverse stockinette) and brown/black

(stockinette)

As far as the yarn goes I think a laceweight mohair blend (original is

65 mohair 35 nylon) or similar slightly fuzzy yarn.

Does this sound like I'm on the right track for a pattern? Any

suggestions? Any ideas for what yarn to use?
