Wintery Books?

What I want to know today is … what are the most “wintry” books you can think of? The ones that most embody Winter?
I was thinking that Smilla's Sense of Snow is surely Very Wintry.
Or The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper?
A Christmas Carol and Doctor Zhivago and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe?
The Virgin in the Ice was VERY wintry-it's a mystery featuring Brother Cadfael written by Edith Pargeter as Ellis Peters. (These are really good historical mysteries, not to be missed.)

Two Old Women is a novel by Vellma Wallis, set in Fairbanks, Alaska.In archaic times: Two old women spend the winter abandoned by their tribe in the wilderness.

Can you think of any others you would recommend? Let me know in your comments below:

Winter lies too long in country towns;
hangs on until it is stale and shabby, old and sullen.
