I think I talked about the Puppy Cam here before didn't I? If I haven't let me explain-the puppy cam is a 24 hour live streaming video of 6 shiba inu puppies being puppies. This has been a great way for me to get a puppy fix
without having to clean up after them. Well the puppies are growing so fast that they are moving out. I needed something to fill the void.
Thanks to Sheep Thrills, a wonderful online discussion group I find these really interesting things including the live cam streaming of the International Space Station!
This is the coolest thing you ever saw: I saw the live docking of the space shuttle on Tuesday! Before that I saw one of the scientist working on some experiment inside the station and it was so amazing to watch her working, live mind you, weightless and hair flowing out behind her! You get to see the earth spinning very quickly by and see
clouds and the continents fly by:

While I working on the computer I check the cam every so often to watch what they are up to and get a view of the beauty flying by! I am also listening to Pandora free Internet radio. Started back in 2000, they have been hard at work on the Music Genome Project. It's the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken. Together their team of fifty musician-analysts has been listening to music, one song at a time, studying and collecting literally hundreds of musical details on every song. It takes 20-30 minutes per song to capture all of the little details that give each recording its magical sound - melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics ... and more - close to 400 attributes!

With Pandora you can explore this vast trove of music to your heart's content. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs or artists into Pandora and let the Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you.

So I have been listening to Spacy music as I watch the Space Station do it's work! How neat is that?

On the knitting front, I finished a huge project: Queen Anne Lace Shawl! It has been a good year in the making. I couldn't concentrate on lace for a while when I was ill but the brain is working again and I am so Happy to have finished something this monumental! It took me almost two days just to bind it off! It is soaking in the tub right now and I will pin it out shortly! Yay!

Kind of cute?

Just finished reading a very interesting book The Abdication Of Edward the VIII by Lord Beaverbrook. This book reports the details of Edward and Wallis Simpson's behavior as he was readying to be crowned King Of England and as Edward attempted to bring Mrs. Simpson along as his
Consort. He was a weak, some said sexually dysfunctional who was ruled over by this twice divorced, steely American. Lord Beaverbrook was a newspaper baron who was intimately involved in the crisis the King caused and gives the detail day to day. I loved this book but wouldn't recommend it as a first read about the Duke of Windsor and his wife. A good beginning would be the book: The House of Windsor by Andrew Roberts and Antonia Frasier.
She looks hard as nails doesn't she?
