Olbrich Garden Class

Isn't this just gorgeous? This is being taught as a class at Olbrich Botanical Garden in Madison and the classes are full! I am so sorry as I would dearly love to craft a fairy house.

I was at Susan's Fiber Shop Knitting Retreat this weekend and a friend, Eugenie was making a sculpture of a chicken and It had wire feet. Got me to thinking about the Russian fairy tale about Baba Yaga and her house that has feet. Chicken feet. I can really see a fairy house on feet walking throughout the forest. Really intriguing possibilities if I can get it right. That is why I would really like to take that class to learn basic building technique. Oh well, I guess it will just have to be trial and error!

Had a wonderful time at the retreat. It is always so nice to spend time with friends and without stress. I talked smart and knitted and ate and bought yarn (some cashmere, by the way) and swam in the pool and sat in the hot tub and played with the couple of kids that were there. Really just enjoyed myself a bunch! So glad to spend time with such wonderful women (and men).
Talk to you soon,
Lynda
